The thing about writing

Do you know what it feels like when you have so much to say, but end up not telling? It’s usually because you’re scared that it won’t come out right, isn’t it?

I have that feeling all the time. Because whenever you say something, it’s said. And when something’s said, there’s nothing you can do about anymore. And the worst part of that is that people tend to memorize literally every little thing you’ve ever said wrong. Like, when something accidentally sounds sarcastic when you actually meant what you said, when you don’t sound enthusiastic enough when someone tells exiting news, even though you’re really happy for them, or when you say something and it comes out meaner than you wanted.

And that’s when I wish that I could “edit” the conversation. That I could just hit backspace a few times and everything would be perfectly fine again.

And that’s the thing about writing.  You can type everything you want and just delete it afterwards and nobody would ever know. That empty piece of paper is all yours, you can do whatever you want with it.

That’s why I started the blog in the first place. Everyone can read what I think, but no one will hear “the way I said it”.

I mean, you can always think I’m being sarcastic, but you can never be sure. And that’s great because that also means that you can interpret it the way you want it.

My head’s always full of ideas, stories to tell and my opinion about a lot of things, and I can endlessly edit the way I wrote them down.

Here’s a tip: Bring a notebook everywhere you’re going, inspiration usually comes unexpected.

The thing about writing is that there are infinite possibilities, fill the blank space with anything you want.
